The M was the brawny, bulked up factory performance version of the attractive, but admittedly tame Z3 and featured a wider stance, bigger wheels and tires, sport suspension, better brakes and yes, that absolutely wonderful 3.2 liter BMW M-Power inline 6. It was (and still is) the BMW roadster that turned heads. Its no wonder these cars are being identified by car experts as the next wave of highly collectible models. I am the second owner of this car, having purchased it in 2005 from the BMW dealership that sold the car new. I bought the car with approximately 25K on the clock and have personally been responsible for the rest of the miles to date, most of which were logged by 2007 and less than 1K per year since then. The car has always been adult driven by me. Those miles were driven respectfully, the car never being abused or neglected, and service was completed by the BMW dealer. In fact, a full check up was conducted just a few miles ago just to assess the cars overall condition and to identify any issues; it passed with flying colors. The car has current PA safety and emissions inspections (passed with no issues) good through November of 2017. In short, this gem runs, drives, shifts and handles remarkably and is an absolute joy to drive. The car comes with the factory canvas convertible top (with window in very good shape, but not perfect) as well as the somewhat rare matching factory removable hardtop, complete with storage bag and cart. The hardtop also features a rear-window defogger. I absolutely love how the look of this car transforms when the hard top is installed, although I havent driven it in cold weather in more than 10 years. Updated hid headlamps with halo ring lights. Upgraded pioneer and jl audio sound system with cd, satellite radio. Bmw has never produced anything that looks quite as unique as the z3m coupe. Not only is it one of the coolest cars produced - the original m coupe is a prime example of nerd chic: incredibly cool to those in the know but utterly unappealing to the masses. Offered from late 1998 to 2002, bmw sold just 4,749 z3 coupes, and of those, only 2,698 bore the m badge. The m coupe is the bmw m-developed version of the z3 coupe and is a minor automotive miracle: the extremely rare, stunningly unique, immensely capable, and supremely practical sports coupe. It also has an m-tuned chassis and several unique cosmetic parts. The m coupe was first unveiled at the 1997 frankfurt motor show, though production did not begin until the following year. The interior of the m coupe features several unique items including a chrome-ringed instrument cluster with red needles and the m logo, three auxiliary chrome-ringed gauges in the center console, power and heated sport seats with special pleated leather trim, a three-spoke m steering wheel with tri-color stitching, an illuminated m leather shift knob with the m logo on the shift pattern and a chrome boot surround, an oval-shaped rear-view mirror, leather door pulls and center console trim, chrome inside door handles, and door sill plates with the 'm' logo.
